The press office's aim and task is to inform the public about current police-related events in the district. In addition, they present the various facets of everyday police work in order to give the public a better understanding of the Viersen district police authority. The team is also available to answer questions from the public on the authority's social media channels.
The remit of external public relations includes, among other things:
- Coordinating and accompanying events with a high public profile
- Presenting the authority's website
- Managing the authority's social media accounts together with the press office
- Drafting letters of thanks and recognition
Another key component of external public relations work is advising on the creation and preparation of all publications such as flyers, brochures and the like.
Internal public relations work includes:
- Designing the authority's intranet
- Controlling messages from the head of the authority and the head of department via internal media
- Creating and publishing a regular staff magazine
- Processing all information that is to be controlled via the public relations media
- Preparing internal events for the district administrator or the head of department, such as of the head of department, such as promotions, retirements or honors
