Theft

(jd) A 49-year-old woman from Kirchlengern was in a store in Lange Straße at around 3.50 p.m. last Friday (9 August). When she wanted to look around for clothes, she briefly placed her purse on a table and realized a few moments later that the purse had been stolen. In the immediate vicinity was another customer, who was around 50 to 60 years old, had gray hair and was wearing a black top with a black cardigan, blue jeans and light-colored shoes at the time of the crime. She first went to the table, then into a changing room and then quickly left the store. The purse contained personal identification documents and bank cards as well as a three-digit sum of cash. Further analysis of the footage from the store's surveillance cameras is still ongoing. Herford police are asking other witnesses who can provide information about the woman to contact them on 05221/8880.
